Graduate: Academic Support Program of Study
Program of Study: A program of study is established and agreed to by the student and the degree program and specifies the course degree requirements. For a full-time graduate student, the program of study must be set before the enrollment in the second semester. For a graduate student who is carrying a reduced (part-time load), the establishment of a program of study may be delayed up to the enrollment for the ninth graduate credit hour. A registration hold may be placed on your record for failure to establish a program of study by these deadlines. The program of study, once established, cannot be altered solely because of a student’s poor academic performance.
Graduate students attending UCF are expected to complete a program of study with their department, and perform at a certain level academically. Graduate students that do not complete a program of study or maintain satisfactory academic standing at UCF are placed on a probationary status. Satisfactory academic standing at UCF is defined as a minimum program of study GPA of a 3.0 When a student's program of study GPA (not term GPA) falls below a 3.0 he or she will be placed on academic probation.
This hold requires students on probation to meet with their Graduate Program Coordinator before registering for courses. This hold will be post dated or removed according to the Program Coordinator’s instructions. Please note this process may vary for students that have been readmitted and are still on probation.
A student is removed from probation, and considered in good standing, once their program of study GPA is a 3.0 or higher, or a program of study has been received. Once this occurs the college will remove the hold, but students are encouraged to continue seeking advisement each semester.
